A tremendous quantity of legislation, including tithing, was simply annulled. Simultaneously tremendous amplification of laws was given, Laws which govern the relationship of “man to man”. It becomes evident, that to our Lord, it is RELATIONSHIPS which matter. First, and most important, is YOUR relationship to God.
All rituals, mechanical observances, church-theater productions, were completely discarded. They are of no service to God. A loving, obedient (true, just) relationship, of man to God, followed by a loving, honest relationship of “man- to- man”, is all that counts.
